Position Summary
LeoTerra Development is currently seeking an experienced and dependable Motor Grader Operator to join our construction team. This role is critical to the success of our land development projects, focusing on precise grading and shaping of job sites in preparation for lots, utilities, and stormwater infrastructure. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and skilled in reading site plans and working within construction timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a motor grader to perform rough and finish grading for building pads, site access areas, and drainage structures
• Read and interpret site grading plans, blueprints, and survey stakes to ensure accurate elevation and slope
• Maintain proper grading techniques to achieve desired compaction and surface finish, ensuring compliance with project specifications
• Assist in shaping stormwater management areas and utility corridors according to engineered designs
• Operate additional heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and compact equipment as needed
• Perform daily inspections and light maintenance of equipment to ensure safe, continuous operation
• Work collaboratively with site superintendents, foremen, and crew members to maintain project schedules and productivity
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized jobsite

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating as a motor grader in land development or civil construction
• Strong understanding of grading principles, finish work, and drainage requirements
• Ability to read grade stakes and interpret grading plans accurately
• Experience operating other equipment such as dozers, skid steers, and mini excavators is a plus
• Must be safety-focused, dependable, and able to work well in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening
