Job Description:

Support the Business Acquisition and Operational teams with the skills and knowledge to generate complete civil site take offs including production.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects etc. to determine the specifications of the project and report all findings to Director of Acquisition and related parties.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements that will be needed to complete the job.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information trends.
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
  • Ability to read and understand all site plans for all projects.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements with clearance from Sr. Director of Purchasing/CFO.
  • Obtain permits from appropriate authorities if not already performed by Land Acquisition Manager.
  • Determine needed resources (human capital needs, equipment, and materials) from start to finish. Creating complete job budgets with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Assist with on-boarding of projects (KPM’s and set-up sheets). Deliver complete budget to Operations Managers including detailed budget, job schedule, selected vendors and sub-contractors.
  • Work with operations teams to ensure project stays on targeted completion date. Be available to Operations team to answer questions or help solve any issues during construction.
  • 2-D drawings.
  • 3-D drawings.
  • Volume calculations.
  • Share all pertinent project knowledge with field team members as necessary.
  • Be able to delegate responsibilities within our preconstruction team and monitor the progress of those responsibilities to their successful completion.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED.
  • Minimum of three years experience.
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Expert level Microsoft Office 365 (entire suite).
  • Ability to create documents, process, and/or procedures.
  • Ability to provide updates on activity (daily, weekly, monthly) as necessary.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and desire to be taught and also learn on your own.
  • Integrity, credibility, and commitment to company vision.
  • Ability to work autonomously while adhering to Leoterra SOP.
  • Ability to compute basic numbers, read scales and use simple fractions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience as construction estimator and managing a large scale of projects at the same time.
  • Ability to read and understand all construction plans and explain, in detail how to achieve the goals of those plans, to all supervisors and managers the work schedule that is needed to complete the plans.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material requirements and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software especially HCSS platform and AgTek.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
