Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at Liberty Precast Products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a large forklift to handle, transport, and store precast concrete products, including pipes and other materials. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a large forklift (e.g., 15,000–40,000 lbs. capacity) to transport precast concrete products within the yard and production areas.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
• Move and stack concrete pipe, ensuring stability and proper placement in designated storage areas.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of the forklift and report any mechanical issues.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and truck drivers to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure longevity and reliability.
• Assist with general yard duties as needed, including organizing and cleaning work areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating large forklifts, preferably in a concrete, construction, or heavy industrial setting.
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy loads in a controlled manner.
• Familiarity with proper load balancing, weight distribution, and safe handling techniques.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and forklift operation protocols.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in an outdoor and industrial environment, with exposure to dust, and noise. The role requires sitting, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times.
