Position Overview

LeoTerra Development is seeking an experienced Paver Operator to join our asphalt paving team. The Paver Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating the asphalt paving machine to lay, spread, and level hot mix asphalt on roads, streets, driveways, and other surfaces. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality paving results that meet project specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the asphalt paver to place and distribute asphalt mix according to specified thickness, width, and grade.
• Work closely with the paving foreman and crew to ensure smooth, consistent paving operations.
• Monitor the flow and depth of asphalt and make necessary adjustments for a uniform surface.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of paving equipment and report any maintenance needs.
• Assist in the setup, cleaning, and breakdown of paving equipment.
• Ensure proper communication with truck drivers, roller operators, and rakers to maintain a steady paving rhythm.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
• Perform additional labor duties as needed to support the crew and ensure job completion.
• Prior experience in asphalt paving is required for all roles
• Strong understanding of paving equipment and processes
• Ability to read and follow site plans and instructions
• Commitment to safety, quality, and timely project completion
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods of time (up to 10–12 hours per day).
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and climb as needed to operate or assist with paving equipment.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Tolerance to work in outdoor environments including extreme heat, cold, dust, and noise.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate controls, levers, and switches.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while working around moving equipment and active traffic.
